What we do for you:

The first step in every Turkish inheritance is obtaining the Turkish certificate of inheritance (Veraset İlamı). This document confirms who is entitled to inherit under Turkish law. We apply for the Veraset İlamı before the competent Turkish court or notary and ensure all heirs are correctly recorded.

Turkish real estate must be transferred into the name of the heirs in the Turkish land register (Tapu Sicili). We manage the entire land registry transfer procedure — from coordinating with the Turkish land registry office to the completed transfer of ownership.

Inheritance in Turkey is subject to Turkish inheritance tax. We advise you on Turkish inheritance tax obligations, assist with the tax declaration and ensure all deadlines are met.

If the estate is heavily indebted or renunciation makes more sense for other reasons, this must be formally declared within the legal deadline before the Turkish court. We advise you on whether renunciation makes sense in your case and manage the renunciation declaration.

Under Turkish law, certain close relatives — children, spouse, parents — have an inviolable compulsory share (Saklı Pay) of the estate regardless of the will's content. If this compulsory share has been infringed, we bring the reduction action (Tenkis Davası) before Turkish courts.

If there are disputes over the validity of a Turkish will or the distribution of the estate, we represent your interests before Turkish inheritance courts. Whether contesting a will, disputing an inheritance share or partition of the estate — we act for you decisively.

Turkish bank accounts are frozen after death. We carry out the necessary steps to unblock and transfer the account balances to the heirs — by power of attorney, without your presence in Turkey.
